The Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Centre (IBioIC) is inviting bioprocess developers to apply for £10k Business Vouchers to support industry or academic led projects to scale, through access to the IBioIC FlexBIO Bioprocess Scale-up Centre.
FlexBIO, hosted at Heriot-Watt University, bridges the gap between early-stage laboratory research and industrial-scale bioproduction. It offers biotech companies, startups and research organisations access to pilot-scale bioreactor infrastructure, expert technical support, and end-to-end process development services.
To be considered for a Business Voucher:
- The project must be championed and led by an industrial or academic organisation, with a credible plan for securing follow-on funding to take a successful product or service to market
- The industrial and/or academic organisations must be able to cover the remaining cost of the project above the Business Voucher value
- The project must be at a stage where the proposed bioprocess development work can be completed by end March 2027
- The work will support the bio-based manufacturing cluster in Scotland through business growth, investment, collaborative R&D, access to supply chains or feedstock.
