Followers of EBNet’s AD WG, and others interested in anaerobic digestion, can now read a short report containing reflections on the recent World Biogas Summit 2026 hosted by ADBA and the World Biogas Association (WBA). The report was kindly prepared by Dr Angela Bywater, EBNet’s former Network co-Manager, who attended the event at Birmingham’s NEC.
Among other topics, there were discussions on the role of AI in AD, a matter of interest to our AI/ML WG. And good to see in the accompanying photos a glimpse of University of Surrey spin-out BiofuelAi!
Dr Mark Walker, who leads EBNet’s AD WG, said “We are all very grateful to Angie for her unflagging energy in supporting and disseminating information on this technology and the AD sector, in this report and all her other initiatives”.
Angie is an ADBA Board Member, a Fellow of RASE and an active contributor to IFEAA, REA, IEA Task 37 and other key groups working in field of AD. She currently manages the UK side of the Global Center for Sustainable Bioproducts (GCSB) led by EBNet Co-I and PISA WG Lead Prof Jhuma Sadhukhan of the University of Surrey.
