Closing date: 23 Oct 2026

The National Biofilms Innovation Centre (NBIC) is inviting entries to its 2026 Biofilm Create! Photography and Art Competition. This year for the first time the competition is open to entries from anywhere in the world.

The competition has three categories:

Entries must provide a title and a short description explaining the biofilm connection and the inspiration or context behind the work. This information will be considered as part of the judging process.

Prizes of £200, 100 and 50 will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the Photography and Art categories. The Special Theme: Industry category will have a single prize of £200 for the winning entry.  Winners will be publicly announced during #BiofilmWeek, which will take place from 18-24 November 2026.
