There is a temporary position in the Systems Microbiology Group at the University of Surrey for 8 months to work on water and soil bioremediation using microbial electrochemical systems.
This is a project funded by the EU (https://www.greener-h2020.eu) and basically involves the use of microbial electrochemical systems for bioremediation of polluted water and soil from sites in the EU and China, and the study of the composition and metabolic capabilities of the microbial communities involved.
The post is for a PostDoc, but a case could be made to appoint somebody without a PhD but with adequate expertise. The post is now covered by a PDRA who is leaving in November – she will be working one day per week until the end of October, so she would be able to train /advice the person taking over.
