26–27 November 2024, The Guildhall, St Martins Courtyard, Coney St, York YO1 9QL
BBNet, HVB, EBNet and the Supergen Bioenergy Hub are delighted to announce that expressions of interest are now being accepted for An Introduction to Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Methodology Course. Our course on LCA in Practice focuses more on Environmental Biotechnology and this one covers our joint broader interests.
LCA is a rapidly evolving tool used to determine impacts of products or systems over a range of environmental and resource issues. Applying this method of assessment is complex and difficult, and translating the theory into a credible, transparent and applicable practice can be challenging.
About the course:
The two day in-person course will provide an introduction to LCA methodology (following ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 standards) and how to apply LCA in your bioeconomy based setting. Delivered by colleagues from University College London, the course will take place on 26 and 27 November in York, UK.
Expressions of interest are being taken until Sunday 6 October 2024. All applications will be assessed and places will be allocated based on the following criteria:
- Relevance to your current work
- Potential impact on future projects
- Broader significance to the field
Who is this course for:
There are 20 places available, open to members of any of the organising networks (you do not need to be a member of all networks), from both industry and academia, whose role includes the need to conduct, understand or implement LCAs or associated policies. Participants will learn how to conduct a LCA from scratch, therefore the course will suit people with no prior knowledge of LCA or with some knowledge of LCA who have not undergone formal training and are looking to develop their skills to conduct impactful assessments.
We will let you know if you have secured a place on the course after registration closes and by no later than 14 October 2024. Please do not make travel arrangements until your place has been confirmed.
