Apply now for the 2025 China-UK Young Scholars Summer School on Sustainability, initiated by Professor Yongguan Zhu and organized by the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), with strong support from the Bureau of International Cooperation, CAS.
Sustainable development is a global consensus on addressing the contradictions between the environment and development. Currently, global challenges such as the accelerated evolution of unprecedented changes, sluggish post-pandemic economic recovery, escalating geopolitical conflicts, and the intensifying climate crisis have become significant factors hindering countries from achieving the sustainable development goals. To achieve sustainable development, countries must confront environmental challenges together and seek balance in the economic, social, and environmental dimensions.
In this context, the China-UK Young Scholars Summer School on Sustainability aims to foster greater understanding and trust between the two countries, enhance communication among young scholars, and lay a solid foundation for achieving the global sustainable development goals. They welcome young scientists from diverse backgrounds covering Climate Change and Ecosystem Health, Sustainable Food Systems, Microbial Ecology and Soil Health, and New Technologies in Environmental Monitoring, etc.Â
Join from August 17 to 26, 2025, in Jiaxing (a historic and cultural city), China.
