Modelling complex fluids – what do we need to know?

Modelling complex fluids – what do we need to know?

A 2-day workshop led by Prof John Bridgeman of the University of Liverpool brought together specialists in fluid mechanics with microbiologists and water industry end users to discuss best practice and new opportunities in hydrodynamic modelling of anaerobic digestion of wastewater biosolids.

These complex multi-phase non-Newtonian fluids present a range of challenges that are also relevant to other sludges and digestates in emerging areas of environmental biotechnology. The Report and Summary Outcomes are now available on the Resources webpage.

The group at Liverpool University is also hosting the UK Fluids Conference 2025 from 2-4 September 2025. Registration is now open, with a submissions deadline of 30 May.  For more details on key dates and speakers see the conference website.
