Organisations across the UK’s fermentation and biomanufacturing sectors are invited to contribute to a survey mapping existing fermentation and downstream processing infrastructure for non-health applications. The aim is to gather information on current capability, technical specifications, utilisation, and access models across the industrial biotechnology, food and feed, agriculture, materials, chemicals and other biobased products sectors.
The insights obtained will help identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities in national infrastructure, and will inform future initiatives to support research, commercialisation and manufacturing growth
The survey has been developed by the Bio-based and Biodegradable Industries Association (BBIA), the Biorenewables Development Centre (BDC) and the Pioneer Group, and closes at the end of January 2026.
