This UKRI Proof of Concept funding call aims to accelerate the development of new or improved technologies, products, processes or services arising from research activities at eligible UK research organisations.
Outcomes may include establishing university spinouts or social ventures, as well as developing other applicable commercialisation routes that generate societal and economic benefits for the UK.
Applications are welcomed from across all research council areas, including cross and multi-disciplinary approaches.
The call will support projects that are not eligible for existing UKRI funding opportunities or that have been funded by other mechanisms and that now require further de-risking at a larger scale.
Project budget can be from £100k up to £250k FEC: UKRI will fund 80% FEC. Project duration is a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 9 months from project start date. Projects must start by 1 October 2026.
