New BES Webinar available – and don’t forget the next one!

The most recent webinar in our current BES series, from 8 Sept 2025, is now available HERE on EBNet’s YouTube channel.

The topic was Interfacial Bioelectrochemistry  –  Enzymatic NO and CO₂ Reduction and H₂ Evolution. Our speaker was Dr Cristina M Cordas, from the NOVA School of Science and Technology in Portugal who talked about her work on key metalloenzymes for environmental applications, including nitric oxide reductase, formate dehydrogenase and [NiFe]-hydrogenase.

Dr Sharon Velasquez-Orta, who chaired the session, said: “The webinar was fantastic, Cristina covered interesting concepts on how we can use electrochemical tools to understand enzymatic reactions. I really enjoyed it, and I’ll be watching it again now it is uploaded”.

The next webinar in the series will be on Electroactivity of microbial communities in microbial fuel cells for bioremediation.  The speaker is Prof Claudio Avignone Rossa of the University of Surrey and the webinar takes place on Tue 28 Oct:  to keep up to date with further information, scan the QR code below.

This series is brought to you by EBNet’s working group on Bioelectrochemical Systems for Environmental Biotechnology (BES WG), led by Dr Velasquez-Orta.
