What is a BIV?
Business Interaction Vouchers are used to encourage and support collaboration between academic and industrial partners. They are awarded to undertake a defined piece of work by the academic partner for the industrial partner. Awards up to £20K are awarded to the academic at 80% FEC. The amount requested from the Network must be matched at least at 80% FEC by the industrial partner. Industrial match funding must be at least 50% in cash and the remainder can be in kind.
Details of awarded projects can be found here. The first call opened 6 January 2020 and closed on 28 February 2020. The second call opened 4 January 2021 and closed 26 February 2021. The third call (joint with IBioIC) opened 18 October 2021 and closed 19 November 2021. The fourth call opened on 12 September 2022 and closed on 27 October 2022. The fifth BIV call opened 9 February 2023 and closed midnight, Sunday 16 April 2023. Our sixth BIV call opened 15 August 2023 and closed on 16 October 2023.
