Deadline for entries:Â 20 Feb 2026
The next round of the annual Dance Your PhD competition is open for entries.  This is a fabulous chance for current (and former?) PhD researchers to think about your work in a completely different way – and if you take part, to disseminate your ideas to others, inspire people, and make a lot of friends along the way.
The steps involved are pretty straightforward:
- Turn your PhD topic into a dance (or get AI help to be eligible for the special prize)
- Post the video on YouTube
- Send the link to the Cmpetition Organisers by 20 Feb 2026
For the main category, you must have a PhD or be working towards one. In the special AI-generated dance category, the dance must reflect some aspect of your research. For the main context, you must be part of the dance. A complete set of rules can be found here, with answers to FAQ are here.
The competition started around 2009 and has gone from strength to strength. Given what we now know about public perception of our field, it’s definitely time for a winner from the Environmental Biotechnology category!
