The Environmental Biotechnology Innovation Centre (EBIC) is hosting a live, interactive webinar on Biosurfactants for Oil Spill Response, with two leading experts in the field.
Tony Gutierrez is Professor of Environmental Microbiology and Biotechnology at Heriot-Watt University, and Boyd McKew is Senior Lecturer in Environmental Microbiology at the University of Essex.
Within EBIC, Boyd focuses on identifying target genes for environmental bioremediation, while Tony’s work centres on developing sustainable microbial biosurfactants and recombinant production systems for these biomolecules. Their research aims to enhance natural attenuation processes and support the bioremediation of environments contaminated with toxic chemical pollutants.
