EBNet – Future plans

EBNet’s official UKRI funding ends on 31 Jan 2026, but some of our activities will continue  –  directly, and in conjunction with EBIC, Better Water 4 All and others. We will:

  • Continue to publish and promote forthcoming reports and papers based on EBNet’s work
  • Keep updating the website pages, especially Resources and Working Groups, and add occasional News items – though not quite as often as at present!
  • Run webinars, and make this and other content available on our YouTube channel
  • Conduct a survey of EBNet members near the close of the UKRI funding period

Some of our Working Groups have completed their intended tasks, others have already found new homes, and some plan to carry on their activities via EBNet. To find out more in each case, check the WG pages and News tags over the next few weeks.

With our WG Leads we are working to identify key advances in technology over the Network’s lifetime, and emerging priority areas for Environmental Biotechnology. This will also build on feedback from the EBNet members survey  –  watch out for further news on this!

The next Newsletter goes out in the last week of January. We will then circulate a short Newsletter in July with updates on Network topics and activities, and see if there is interest in more Newsletters after that.

More updates soon. Meanwhile we warmly encourage members to join our sister and successor groups the Environmental Biotechnology innovation Centre (EBIC) led by Prof Frederic Coulon, the Better Water 4 All Network+ led by Prof Bing Guo, and the ELEMENTAL Mission Hub with Co-investigator Prof Jhuma Sadhukhan

And don’t miss the P3EB Hub, Global Center for Sustainable Bio-Products (GCSB) –  and C-Loop Advanced Manufacturing Hub, coming soon!
