Please take part in our EBNet Members survey!

The Environmental Biotechnology Network is running a survey in which all members are warmly invited to participate.

The aim is to gather insights on your experiences with the Network, and your opinions on what are the key issues in Environmental Biotechnology now.

All EBNet members will receive an invitation to take part via a link emailed directly to you: if you do not receive an invitation by 26 Jan 2026, please contact us on ebnet@ebnet.ac.uk.

We hope to receive your response before 28 Feb 2026

Please note: the survey is easier to complete when displayed in landscape format rather than portrait.

The survey is fully anonymous. Responses are not linked to individuals, and no personal data are collected or recorded. A copy of the full participant information sheet is available HERE. This study has been approved by the Faculty Research Ethics Committee (FREC) at the University of Southampton (Ethics/ERGO Number: 110675).

The survey organisers are EBNet Director Prof Sonia Heaven and Dr Sigrid Kusch-Brandt, in her capacity as a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Southampton.

This survey forms part of some work we are doing with our Working Group Leads to look at key advances and issues in environmental by technology. For background information on definitions of environmental biotechnology as a discipline, see our recent paper.

… And for more details on EBNet’s plans for future activities see HERE.

What is Environmental Biotechnology? Widely applied, but a clear definition of the term is still needed. Heaven, S., Kusch-Brandt, S., Byfield, L., Bywater, A., Coulon, F., Curtis, T., Gutierrez, T., Higson, A. and Sadhukhan, J., 2025.
