The ELEMENTAL Hubâs Business Interaction Voucher (BIV) scheme is now open for applications to support innovative collaborations between industry and academics in the field of engineering biology for environmental processing of metals.
BIVs are funded through BBSRC’s Engineering Biology Mission Hub Programme, and are aimed at projects within the Hubâs remit, from contaminated land to industrial biotechnology in a circular economy. They are designed to encourage and resource defined projects between UK-based industry partners, and academic researchers who are members of the ELEMENTAL Hub.
Total funding of up to ÂŁ50k per project is available to support research, innovation, technology transfer, and business growth. An industry contribution is required, which can be in cash or in kind. Larger, near-market projects should aim to provide around 50% of the grant value, while smaller, early-stage or exploratory projects may contribute closer to 20%.
Proposals must be relevant to BBSRCâs remit in industrial biotechnology and engineering biology. Early engagement and clear alignment with ELEMENTALâs research themes are strongly encouraged.
