The Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) is hosting a webinar on Pilot Plant Protocol and Scale-up:
“Aerobic fermentation is the most common way to produce products by bioprocessing. Mechanically agitated systems are the most common way of dispersing gasses into liquids, due to their versatility and ability to handle a wide variety of oxygen uptake rates. However, most pilot systems are not properly designed for developing the data needed for agitation scale-up or developing broth-specific mass transfer relationships.
This webinar will discuss proper pilot plant design and experimental protocol to allow scale-up and optimization of production fermenters, and the step-by-step procedure for determining optimum power and airflow in the production scale”.
This highly topical event is free to IChemE members. For more details and to register see HERE.
