Invitation to tender for REAL’s Research Hub Project: Plant Response Test Interpretation and Comparison

Renewable Energy Assurance Ltd (REAL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Association for Renewable Energy and Clean Technology (The REA). REAL carries out a range of certification and consumer protection activities, all of which promote sustainable energy and circular resource use (organics recycling). REAL’s activities fall under two headings; certification schemes and consumer codes. REAL’s Research Hub funds research to support the certified compost and digestate industries, Organics Certification Schemes (CCS and BCS), and associated Standards (more info here).

REAL is now seeking to appoint a contractor to deliver on the first of 3 projects:
• Plant Response Test Interpretation and Comparison: Investigating performance of the PAS-Specified Tomato Plant Response Test and Spring Barley Test on Quality Compost
• Evaluate possible alternative area-based methods of assessment for plastics
• How the benefits of applying compost and digestate to soils can be accounted for under the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol

The first tender is for “Investigating performance of the UK Tomato Plant Response Test and German Spring Barley Test on CCS Compost” – deadline 4 November 2022.
