Key dates:
- Abstract deadline 7 July 2025 (Don’t Miss!)
- Event 26-27 November 2025 in Liverpool, UK
For full details including registration see here.
This meeting is intended to strengthen links between researchers across the whole field of microbial evolution, in the UK and elsewhere. There will be invited talks on topics including drivers and dynamics of (pan)genome evolution, microbiome evolution, predicting microbial evolution, and the applications of microbial evolution. The meeting will also provide ECRs with opportunities to present their work in the form of contributed talks and poster presentations, and to build their own collaborative networks.
Topics covered include:
- Drivers and dynamics of microbial evolution
- Evolution of (pan)genomes
- Evolution of microbial communities
- Predicting microbial evolution
- Applications of microbial evolution
Sarah Forrester, co-Lead of EBNet’s Bioinformatics WG, said “Microbial communities are highly complex, dynamic ecosystems with interactions, functions and evolutionary pathways that are not fully understood. Microbial evolution plays a critical role in the development of various Biotechnology applications, as well as posing many challenges such as the emergence of antimicrobial resistance. Meetings such as this are an invaluable opportunity for us to collaboratively deepen our understanding of microbial communities, harness their full potential and enable us to advance Environmental Biotechnology”. EBNet therefore warmly welcomes this conference, which follows on from an earlier exciting event Understanding and Predicting Microbial Evolutionary Dynamics 2022.
