PFAS continues to draw the attention of regulators and others, to such an extent that it can sometimes be hard to keep up. Fortunately the UK’s Contaminated Land: Applications in Real Environments group (CL:AIRE) has now set up a PFAS Webpage that compiles relevant information from around the world. Non-commercial news items and publications can be submitted to the Helpdesk. CL:AIRE was one of EBNet’s original supporters and we are delighted to publicise this new resource, which is just one of many great initiatives by the group.
Other recent items include a new guide from the US Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) for PFAS site assessment and remediation. Topics include groundwater vulnerability from PFAS-impacted soil, and how the surface chemistry and properties of some PFAS may impact their transport and fate. For more details see here.
Meanwhile the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has published an updated proposal for PFAS restriction under the REACH regulation; and is planning an online consultation evaluating socio-economic impacts. A webinar on the consultation will take place on 30 Oct 2025 at 10-12:00 UK (11-13:00 EET). For more details and to register see here.
And don’t forget EBNet’s PFAS WG is planning to update its current Position Statement and seeking comments from interested parties.
