The BBC’s Rare Earth programme has a new episode out on PFAS, the per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances that are now a major emerging pollutant:Â listen or download on Rare Earth – Forever Chemicals – BBC Sounds.
Dr Tao Lyu from Cranfield University, who leads EBNetâs PFAS Working Group, says: âNew research shows that cleaning up PFAS contamination – just here in the UK – could cost close to a trillion pounds. With strict safety limits for these âforever chemicalsâ, the pressure is on to develop and roll out better, greener, and more affordable ways to remove and destroy themâ.
The WG has also prepared a Position Statement, released on Thursday of our #EnvBiotechAware week along with more updates from this WG. Access it HERE, and for further information contact Dr Lyu and colleagues.
