It is with great sorrow that we note the death on 9 Sept 2025 of Prof Pathik Pathak, Professor of Sociology in the School of Economic, Social & Political Sciences at the University of Southampton. Colleagues will know him as a higher education innovator, a champion of the power of social entrepreneurship and the Founding Director of the award-winning Social Impact Lab. He was also one of EBNet’s original supporters, acknowledged as a core contributor to the concepts behind our Network: out of 19 individuals so identified at that time, he was also the only Social Scientist. A passionate educator, deeply committed to social justice, and overflowing with warmth and energy. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him: but the impact of his ideas and beliefs is a legacy to be proud of.
