IEA Bioenergy Task 37’s webinar on The Role of Biogas Systems in Building a Sustainable Society is now available to view for those who missed the live event.
The webinar included an introduction to Task 37 by the Task Lead Dr Bernhard Drosg, followed by technical presentations:
- Sustainability effects associated with biogas solutions – a scientific literature review
Jonas Ammenberg, PhD, Senior Associate Professor, Linköping University, Biogas Solutions Research Center, Sweden - Comprehensive Assessments of Anaerobic Digestion Systems Provide Valuable Direction for Sustainable Development
Maria Wellisch, MWA Consultants, Sustainability Consultant – Bioeconomy, Canada. - VEAS – from wastewater treatment to resource factory
Rune Holmstad, Development engineer, VEAS biogas plant, Norway
Dr Mark Walker, who leads EBNet’s Anaerobic Digestion WG, said “This topic is hugely important, as the wide range of other environmental benefits potentially available from anaerobic digestion make it unique amongst renewable energy production systems. These are often not adequately recognised or quantified: IEA Task 37’s ongoing work in this area is thus a major contribution to the development of future policy and incentivisation schemes in this area”.
