Meanwhile there is more good news for AD and biogas, as the European Commission joins IEA Bioenergy’s Task 37. Prof Sonia Heaven, EBNet’s Director who also represents the UK on Task 37, said “These developments – the appointment of Alan Whitehead as Minister of State. and EC membership of Task 37 – are very welcome and encouraging signs of the increasing seriousness with which biogas is regarded, and the growing understanding of the key role of anaerobic digestion in a more sustainable circular bioeconomy”.
