Two interesting opportunities have become available at the Wallenberg Wood Science Center and Chalmers University of Technology.
Assistant Professor in Circularity of Materials from Biomass – deadline: 31 January 2023
The successful candidate will receive a generous start up package, which will provide the opportunity to build an independent research group with focus on the chemical and/or biological sciences relevant for circularity by design, from the production of tailored wood components to end-of-life reuse of materials. The candidate is expected to build a research group with expertise in one of the following areas: carbohydrate, lignin and wood component chemistry, functionalization of wood components for circularity, biodegradability and microbiology, separation of wood constituents, functionalization chemistry and processing chemistry as well as process engineering.
Assistant Professor in Fundamental Characterization and Modelling of Biomass – deadline: 15 February 2023
The successful candidate will receive a generous start up package, which will provide the opportunity to build an independent research line on advanced methodologies for characterization of the plant cell wall and its components, of processing methods and of the obtained materials. The candidate is expected to build a research group with expertise in one of the following areas: molecular characterization of biomass and polymer interactions, correlative electron microscopy, scattering techniques or soft matter modelling such as molecular dynamics simulations.
