WASTE Impact Report 2024 – and a shout-out for its activities

At the suggestion of one EBNet member who is particularly active in this area, a brief shout-out for the work of WASTE, which aims to catalyse scalable, system-level solutions to urgent challenges in the area of sanitation and solid waste management.

WASTE is an international organisation that develops and manages innovative, multi-stakeholder programmes in low- and middle-income countries.  Its core work focuses on Sustainable Development Goals SDG11 Sustainable Cities, SDG8 Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG6 Clean Water and Sanitation.  Many of its projects are within EBNet’s remit of microbially-mediated environmental biotechnology; while others demonstrate that achieving sustainability and equity depends on joined-up thinking about all aspects of the human and natural environment.

WASTE recently published its 2024 Impact Report which details some of the programmes and initiatives it has been involved in, and the considerable contribution these are making to a cleaner and healther future.
