Apply for funding to translate bioscience research into innovations such as products, services or solutions that generate real-world economic, societal, and environmental impact.
Projects must build on prior Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) support and include a clear pathway to real-world use through commercialisation, adoption or progression towards deployment. This fund can support commercialisation projects aimed at de-risking innovative ideas and later-stage projects that encompass significant technical milestones.
Applicants must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for BBSRC funding. Projects can last up to 24 months. The full economic cost (FEC) of a project can be up to £800,000. BBSRC will fund 80% of the FEC.
