IEA Task 37 is hosting a webinar on Industrial Biogas Systems and Unlocking Circular Economy Solutions.
The speakers are:
David Wall of University College Cork, Ireland – Biogas Systems in Industry: An Analysis of Sectoral Use, Sustainability, Logistics and Technology Development
Wolfgang Gabauer of BOKU University, Austria – Implementation of Anaerobic Digestion Facilities in the Food and Beverage Industry
Jenny Stukenbrock of Cosun Beet Company, Anklam, Germany – Integrating Biogas Technology into a Sugar Beet-Based Biorefinery
Andrieli Terezinha Schulz of Frimesa, Brazil – Integrating Biogas Technology into a Slaughterhouse
Drawing on two recent IEA Bioenergy Task 37 reports, the session will explore practical pathways for integrating biogas and biomethane into industrial processes—particularly in the food and beverage sector. Topics include on-site biogas production, industrial partnerships, biomethane use, circular feedstock strategies, and international case studies. The webinar is relevant for plant operators, technology providers, policymakers, researchers, and all stakeholders interested in industrial biogas systems.
Dr Mark Walker, who leads EBNet’s AD WG, said “This promises to be a useful and fascinating event with excellent presenters and topics”.
