Date: 21 Sept 2026 14-15:00 UK, online
The Global Center for Sustainable Bioproducts (GCSB) is hosting a webinar on AI, Synthetic Biology and Biofoundries: Accelerating the Next Generation of Biomanufacturing with Professor Huimin Zhao, the Steven L. Miller Chair Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana–Champaign.
For anyone interested in industrial biotechnology, bioproducts or the circular bioeconomy, this webinar offers a timely look at how AI and biofoundries are changing the rules of biological engineering. Prof Zhao will explain how integrated machine learning, synthetic biology and lab automation can speed up the design-build-test-learn cycle and open new opportunities for sustainable chemicals, enzymes, materials and fuels.
Dr Angela Bywater, the UK Center Manager for GCSB, said “This webinar should interest people working on themes covered by EBNet’s AI/ML and Anaerobic Fermentations WGs”. The UK side of the GCSB is led by EBNet Co-I Prof Jhuma Sadhukhan, who also leads our Theme 3.
