Last week was European Biomethane Week, organised by the European Biogas Association (EBA). The flagship event was a 2-day conference and workshops in Brussels, Belgium featuring high-profile speakers from industry and the European Union’s DG ENERGY and a wide range of sponsors including the UK’s Future Biogas.
In parallel with this week-long event, IEA Bioenergy’s Task 37 held its twice-yearly meeting, opening with a special session on the first day of the EBA conference. The Task meeting also included progress reports on current work packages (see the Task website for details of the current work programme), and the first preliminary discussions on possible topics for the next triennium.
EBNet’s director Prof Sonia Heaven attended the Task 37 meeting in her role as UK National Representative. Prof Heaven said, “This is an excellent group – and it’s particularly satisfying to see members of EBNet’s AD and AF WGs contributing to some of the current work package reports. If anyone has ideas or suggestions for topics the UK would like to see included, please let me know and we will pass them on”. Prof Heaven also thanked EBNet for its support, which enabled UK participation in and attendance at Task meetings for the past 4 years.
Meanwhile for UK members don’t forget ADBA‘s National Conference in London on 10 December!
