As noted in previous posts, digestate as a resource is currently a very hot topic. Don’t miss this webinar by the Global Bioenergy Partnership (GBEP)!
As agricultural systems face growing pressure from volatile fertiliser markets and dependence on imported mineral fertilisers, interest is increasing in locally available nutrient sources that can enhance resilience and sustainability. Digestate has emerged as a promising source of recycled nutrients, offering the potential to return valuable nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and organic matter to agricultural soils. However, realizing its full agronomic value requires a sound understanding of its characteristics, variability, and appropriate management practices. The nutrient composition, fertiliser value and environmental performance can vary considerably depending on factors such as feedstock type, digestion process, storage conditions and post-treatment technologies.
This webinar will explore the opportunities created by digestate as a bio-based fertiliser. Through the discussion, participants will gain a better understanding of how biogas systems can contribute not only to renewable energy generation, but also to more resilient and circular nutrient management in agriculture.
The webinar is part of the 2026 GBEP series, in the thematic area Biogas and biomethane. For more details and to register see HERE.
