Bacteria in biochar – imaging the interactions

Bacteria in biochar – imaging the interactions

Congratulations to Dr Meredith Barr for her presentation at the recent Biochar IV conference, covering some of the work done by her and her team for EBNet POC202409 Elucidating mechanisms of bacterial adsorption to biochar by 3D X-ray image analysis

Meredith said, “The event went really well, and the presentation was incredibly well-received. I’ve been invited to give an International Biochar Initiative lecture as a result, met lots of potential new collaborators, and spoke to the very top names in biochar globally who were really impressed with our research. Thanks so much to EBNet for supporting this — it was undoubtedly the most valuable conference I have ever attended!”

The presentation, on Linking bacterial absorption to local biochar morphology and production conditions by X-ray nanotomography , is now available on EBNet’s YouTube channel.

A part-funded PhD studentship is also available to continue this very promising line of research. More details can be found here.
