Last year EBNet’s Biochars for Pollution Prevention WG ran a very successful workshop, jointly supported by BBNet and EBNet, on Integration of Thermal, Thermochemical and Biological Conversion.
A Summary of the workshop was published shortly after it took place, but a more detailed report on its findings has been embargoed while a journal paper was in preparation. The paper has now been submitted, and we look forward to disseminating both paper and report as soon as possible.
Meanwhile Dr Meredith Barr, who leads the Biochar WG, will be giving a Keynote presentation on the thermal/bio workshop at WasteEng2026.
Dr Barr said, “We’re delighted to share that the full workshop analysis — including thematic and frequency analysis and the quantitative results from our consensus-building activities — is now available online. I’m also honoured to be giving a keynote at WasteEng2026, which will help bring these insights to a much wider audience.”
