It looks as if there is still plenty of funding around in the Engineering Biology field, though discussions continue as to exactly what this comprises – only genetically manipulated biology, or all engineered systems?
We don’t always publicise opportunities in the former as we figure that EBNet members who work in this area are also signed up with the Engineering Biology Hubs and Networks like EBIC, Elemental and P3EB; and those who don’t, don’t need to know.
But for some current examples see the Engineering Biology Access to Infrastructure Pilot which supports access to specialised scale-up facilities and validation of techno-economic viability in sectors including Waste & Environment; and the Engineering Biology Collaborative R&D: Round 3 – Innovate UK Business Connect, which funds projects from £750k to £2.5 million to help UK-registered businesses develop and scale Engineering Biology platforms, products and services.
