There are a number of cross-over areas between the NIBB and the area of bio-remediation is one of them.
Manchester hosted some were fascinating talks on this topic, including some on engineering cell vesicles for nanoparticle production, using phyto- remediation for metal recovery, deploying microbes to treat e-waste and mine tailings in South Africa and recovering copper from whiskey lees.
