Innovate UK: Accelerated Knowledge Transfer Partnerships Round 6

Closing date: 15 July 2026 11:00am

UK academic institutions, RTOs or Catapults can apply for a share of up to £2.5 million to fund innovation projects with businesses.

The Accelerated Knowledge Transfer (AKT) scheme allows a UK Knowledge Base to work with a UK registered business to deliver a short, rapid and targeted intervention.

This intervention will accelerate the evaluation or development of an innovation project or concept, with the potential for a significant impact for the Business Partner. Projects can be open in scope but must align with the Industrial Strategy’s six sectors prioritised by Innovate UK.

These include the following of potential interest to EBNet members:

  • Advanced Manufacturing
  • Clean Energy Industries
  • Digital and Technologies
  • Life Sciences

If a project does not align with one of the priority sectors, it may still be eligible if it is exploiting a novel area of research and the Business Partner meets the criteria for a high growth potential.

Project duration is 3 months, and total eligible grant costs are £35k. A proportion of the Knowledge Base partners’ costs will be funded by Innovate UK.
