World Biogas Expo and BiofuelAi prize

Date and venue:  8-9 July 2026, NEC Birmingham

The 2026 World Biogas Expo, organised by ADBA and the World Biogas Association, takes place in Birmingham early next month, with free registration.

As always, the event will feature experts sharing the latest on global market trends, policy updates and technologial advances. The Exhibition Hall hosts leading companies showcasing cutting-edge products, services and solutions to shape the future of biogas.

Special sessions include a Feedstock masterclass, design of safe and reliable AD plants, Financing Biogas at scale, and Maritime decarbonisation and Bio-LNG. The winners of the AD & Biogas Industry Awards will be announced at a gala dinner on 8 July.

Angela Bywater, EBNet’s former Network co-Manager, will be attending in her role as ADBA Board Member and has promised to update the AD WG on news and views from the event. Meanwhile it’s still not too late to register and go along in person!

Also in the News: our slightly belated congratulations to BiofuelAi which has won the Manchester Prize 2026 for AI innovation  –  see here for more details.

Success has many fathers, and co-Founder Prof Michael Short is probably astonished by the number of new friends he now has: so we should say clearly that EBNet has no connection with the company, its activities or the award. But perhaps we can modestly note our recent AI WG’s report which, with Prof Short’s kind permission, mentions that “Stakeholder inputs from activities with the PISA and AD WGs are now being taken forward by the BiofuelAi start-up incubated at the University of Surrey”.

So while we cannot claim any credit for this success, we are delighted by it and very happy to bask in the reflected glory…
