Dr Maira Anam of Newcastle University has had a busy few weeks. Early last month she attended the Better Water 4 All Network+ ECR conference, where she won a prize for her poster on Impact of hydrodynamics on pilot scale Microbial Electrolysis Cells. And in mid-September she was at the EBIC ECR Event where she gave a talk on Impact of fluid flow on microbial community development in pilot-scale MEC.
Her research is in a key topic area for our Bioelectrochemical Systems WG, and is also a great example of EBNet’s Theme 2 on the interactions between microbes and the engineered environments they live in.
For a copy of the poster, see below or download here.
Great to see researchers making use of these opportunities to networking with others and showcase the results of their own work. EBNet is still out of funds to run its own ECR event, but our thanks to the various funders – and please keep reminding them how useful these events are!
